Directly to the north of the cathedral city of Ratzeburg is the small community of Bäk with around 850 inhabitants. The village takes its name from the Bäk, a stream that connects the Mechower See with the Ratzeburg See and flows through the beautiful Kupfermühlental with its species-rich flora and fauna. Many hiking trails invite you to explore the area.

The apartments are located on the east side of the Ratzeburg lake on the Kupfermühlental. The nearby Kupfermühlental and the surrounding forests offer ideal hiking and leisure opportunities. A bathing area with a view of the Ratzeburg Cathedral is only a 5-minute walk from here. The climatic health resort of Ratzeburg is located in the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park. Many lakes are lined up here one after the other which offer many sports and water activities.
The island town of Ratzeburg is surrounded by lakes and forests. The Schaalsee Biosphere Reserve begins on the eastern shore of Lake Ratzeburg.
As the district town of the Duchy of Lauenburg (“Herzogtum Lauenburg”), Ratzeburg offers a variety of shopping opportunities nearby. Lübeck and the Baltic Sea are only 30 km away. It is 60 km to Hamburg and to Schwerin 50 km.
